Gymnastics Classes
Gymnastics is a great “foundation” sport – the
skills learned in gymnastics carry over to other
activities from cheerleading to football.
No matter what age or skill level, Gym South has
a class for your child. If you have
a child younger than 6, don't forget to check
out our Preschool Program. Ask about our
sibling discounts and convenient class times!
The recreational gymnastics program at Gym South
is geared toward gymnasts of all ages and skill
levels. Our 1-hour “Star” classes are divided
into 3 levels -Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Beginners of all
ages (age 6 years and up) participate in our
Bronze classes to learn fundamental skills like forward
and backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands.
They also learn other basic skills on other
events including the uneven bars, balance beam,
vault (girls) and high bar, pommel horse,
parallel bars, vault, and rings (boys).
The gymnasts will progress to Silver then Gold
as they master the progression of skills at each
level. We also have an Olympic program
for more advanced gymnasts and an
invitation-only Developmental program
for preschool-aged gymnasts.
Placement in classes is decided by skill level
during a free trial class. Simply call Gym
South and we will make an appointment for you in
one of our regularly scheduled trial classes! Our trial
classes give you a chance to see if you like the
gym and allow us to place you in the class that
will be most beneficial to your gymnastics.
